
The inauguration ceremony of Gaddafi Stadium Lahore will be held today. Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi praised the entire team for working day and night in the reconstruction of the stadium and said that he thanked the workers who made the impossible task possible. Gaddafi Stadium will be inaugurated today through a colorful ceremony. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will inaugurate Gaddafi Stadium. Singers Ali Zafar, Arif Lohar and Aima Baig will perform at the inauguration ceremony. Fireworks and a light show will also be displayed. Admission to the inauguration ceremony is free for the public. The first match at the newly constructed Gaddafi Stadium will be played between Pakistan and New Zealand on February 8. Brighter LED lights, 2 new, larger score screens have been installed. The best view of the match has been made possible for the fans from each enclosure. All the fences in front of the enclosures have been removed. Comfortable imported seats have been installed. New hospitality boxes, world-class facilities have been provided for fans and players. Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi will serve lunch to 1,000 workers involved in the construction of Gaddafi Stadium at 1 pm today. The national team kit for the Champions Trophy will also be unveiled at 7:30 pm today. Along with the unveiling of the kit in the evening, a light show has also been organized at Gaddafi Stadium. The ICC Champions Trophy was unveiled at the University of Peshawar. Secretary Sports KP Dawood Khan said that sports activities are also important along with education, it is a matter of pride that the trophy was unveiled at the university. The trophy tour will conclude in Karachi on February 14. The trophy was kept at Arbab Niaz Stadium for a short time and was later shifted back to Islamabad. The trophy was brought from Peshawar University to Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium where no government figure or sports department figure was present to receive the trophy. None of the current or former players of the national cricket team from Peshawar were invited.
